Did you know that we are currently living in the best times? Alright, it may not seem like we are but we could say we are definitely living in better times. Despite the fact that the world still has so many unresolved issues and there is a lot of politics going around that makes life difficult sometimes, the 2010s compared to other years before are definitely easier.
We had over 70 years of Europe without a major war, for example.
Here are a few of the worst times to have been on earth, ranked from “horrible” to “pure Hell, RUN!”.
1. The Blitz September 1940- March 1941
The Blitz refers to a bombing campaign by the Germans against Britain. It happened in London and other cities in Britain during the second world war. During this time, Germans would conduct night time bombing attacks in Britain and it started following Germany’s Luftwaffe’s failure to beat the British Royal Air Force during the Battle of Britain. During this time, forty three thousand civilians were killed and close to a hundred and thirty nine thousand more were left wounded. Massive destruction was caused but it had very little impact on Britain’s ability to continue in the war.
